Portrait of comfort with Old Glory

There is a wonderful place I go sometimes.  Her strong arms are reaching out to welcome me.  I am in awe and humbled by her presence.  To stand under her makes me feel safe.

Here is my second self portrait.

The Comfort Maple is a tree I used to visit with my family when I was a kid.  It is estimated to be 500 years old.  The trunk's circumference measures 20 feet.

I especially like visiting her on a windy day.  I can really feel her strength and her sense of history - her glory.
