Unconditional love

My heart goes out to my sister and her family tonight. 

Today was the scheduled day they are to say goodbye to their canine family member - Rex.

They adopted him from the Humane Society just two years ago.

I spent some time with them this past weekend to get some photos of Rex playing fetch, running free in the park,  and getting lots of attention from his family.

Showing signs of defeat,  Rex can still run like the wind, fetch a ball and jump up each time to greet a visitor who comes to the house.  From the outside he looks healthy.  On the inside he is riddled with cancer - only given four months to live.

  

Dogs are wonderful creatures,  aren't they?
